Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the shaft: Connect the two shaft sections and tighten the coupling.
  2. Install the handle: Slide onto shaft, adjust to comfortable position, and tighten screws.
  3. Attach the cutting head: Align and secure the Tap-n-Go™ head to the drive shaft.
  4. Install the guard: Attach the debris shield to the shaft near the cutting head.
  5. Fill with fuel/oil mix: Use fresh 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil mixture.

WARNING! Always wear protective gloves and eyewear during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight.

First-Time Operation

Before starting, read all safety instructions.

  1. Fuel: Fill tank with correct 50:1 fuel/oil mix.
  2. Starting: Place on ground, set choke, press primer bulb 5-6 times, pull starter cord.
  3. Warm-up: Allow engine to run at idle for 30-60 seconds.
  4. Adjust handle: Set to comfortable operating position.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

  3. Mix thoroughly before refueling.
  4. Never use straight gasoline or motor oil.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if storing for more than 30 days. Always refuel outdoors, away from ignition sources.

Operating Instructions

Supports trimming and edging operations.

  1. Starting: Set choke, prime, pull starter cord firmly.
  2. Trimming: Hold at slight angle, swing in arc from right to left.
  3. Line advance: Tap cutting head on ground while engine is running.
  4. Edging: Rotate handle 90° so cutting head is vertical.
  5. Stopping: Release throttle, move choke/stop control to STOP.
  6. Avoiding damage: Do not force into dense vegetation or against hard objects.
  7. Clearing debris: Stop engine and disconnect spark plug before clearing jams.
  8. Cool down: Allow engine to idle for 30 seconds before stopping.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check for loose fasteners, Clean air filter, Inspect cutting head. Weekly: Clean cooling fins, Check spark plug condition. Monthly: Clean fuel filter, Check fuel lines. Seasonally: Replace spark plug, Clean carburetor, Grease drive shaft.

Storage & Winterization
