Safety Information

Read and understand all safety instructions before operation.

  1. Always wear protective equipment: helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and steel-toed boots.
  2. Maintain secure footing and balance at all times.
  3. Never operate chainsaw above shoulder height.
  4. Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away during operation.
  5. Be aware of kickback zone - upper quadrant of guide bar tip.

WARNING! Chainsaws are dangerous tools that can cause serious injury or death if not used properly. Always follow safety procedures.

Assembly & First Use

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble guide bar and chain.

  1. Attach guide bar: Place bar over studs, align chain sprocket with bar groove.
  2. Install chain: Ensure cutting teeth face forward on top of bar.
  3. Tension chain: Adjust with side tensioner until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  4. Fill with fuel: Use fresh 50:1 fuel/oil mixture (2-stroke oil).
  5. Fill chain oil: Use proper bar and chain oil in separate tank.

CAUTION! Ensure chain brake is disengaged before starting. Always start on ground or solid surface.

Technical Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on top and rear handle. Front Handle: Chain brake lever, Throttle trigger lockout, Throttle trigger. Rear Handle: Start/Stop switch, Choke control, Fuel pump primer, Rear hand guard.

Safety Features: Chain brake (manual/inertia activated), Throttle trigger lockout, Right hand guard, Chain catcher, Spark arrestor muffler.

Adjustments: Chain tension (side adjuster), Idle speed (T-screw), High speed (H-screw), Low speed (L-screw). Maintenance points: Air filter, Spark plug, Fuel filter, Chain oil pump adjustment.

Operation Instructions

Starting procedure for cold and warm engine.

  1. Check chain brake: Ensure disengaged (pulled back toward rear handle).
  2. Activate choke: Push combined control to full choke position.
  3. Press fuel pump: 4-6 times until fuel visible in clear hose.
  4. Place on ground: Hold rear handle with right foot, left hand on front handle.
  5. Pull starter: 2-3 times until engine fires, then move control to half choke.
  6. Start engine: Pull until engine starts, then immediately apply throttle to disengage choke.
  7. Warm up: Allow 30-60 seconds at idle before cutting.

Tip: Always cut at full throttle. Let chain do the work - don't force the saw.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

IntervalTask
DailyCheck chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication
DailyClean air filter (more often in dusty conditions)
WeeklyClean cooling fins and spark arrestor screen
MonthlyCheck spark plug condition and gap
SeasonallyReplace fuel filter and clean fuel tank
50 hoursCheck chain oil pump output and adjust if needed
100 hoursReplace spark plug and clean carburetor air intake

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Proper chain maintenance is critical for performance and safety.

  1. Tension chain: Loosen bar nuts, adjust tensioner until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  2. Retighten bar nuts: Snug while lifting bar tip, then final tighten.
  3. Sharpen chain: Use correct round file size (typically 5/32" or 4.0mm).
  4. File angle: Maintain 30° cutting angle, 10° top plate angle.
  5. File depth gauges: Use depth gauge tool to maintain proper height.
  6. Equal teeth: Ensure all teeth are same length for straight cutting.

CAUTION! Wear gloves when handling chain. Dull chains increase kickback risk.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Empty fuel tank: Run engine until it stops from fuel starvation.
  2. Drain carburetor: Remove bowl screw to drain remaining fuel.
  3. Clean entire saw: Remove sawdust from cooling fins, air filter, and exterior.
  4. Remove chain: Clean and soak in oil, store separately.
  5. Lubricate cylinder: Remove spark plug, add teaspoon of oil, pull starter slowly.
  6. Store properly: In dry place, covered, away from heat sources.

Tip: Use fuel stabilizer if storing less than 30 days. Empty tank completely for longer storage.
