Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, stable surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on studs, fit chain around sprocket and bar groove, tighten bar nuts finger-tight.
  2. Tension chain: Use side-mounted tensioner to achieve proper tension (check with gloves on).
  3. Fill fuel tank: Use Husqvarna 2-stroke oil mixed with unleaded gasoline (50:1 ratio).
  4. Fill chain oil tank: Use Husqvarna chain oil or equivalent.
  5. Install battery (if electric start model): Insert and secure battery.

WARNING! Always wear protective equipment: helmet, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and chainsaw chaps.

First-Time Operation

Before first start, perform pre-operation checks.

  1. Check chain tension: Chain should be snug but pull freely around bar.
  2. Check chain sharpness: Use properly sharpened chain only.
  3. Check all fasteners: Ensure bar nuts, handles, and covers are secure.
  4. Start engine: Place on ground, engage chain brake, set choke, pull starter cord.
  5. Warm up: Allow engine to idle for 30 seconds before cutting.

CAUTION! Never start the chainsaw unless the chain brake is engaged and you're in a clear area.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls located on top and rear handle.

Right Side: Throttle trigger, Throttle trigger lockout, Stop switch, Choke control, Decompression valve (if equipped).

Left Side: Chain brake handle, Front hand guard, Chain tensioner, Side cover latch.

Rear: Rear handle with vibration dampeners, Fuel tank cap, Oil tank cap, Starter handle.

Operation: Squeeze throttle trigger lockout and throttle trigger to increase engine speed. Push front hand guard forward to engage chain brake.

Chain & Bar Setup

Proper chain installation and tensioning is critical for safety and performance.

  1. Loosen bar nuts using combination wrench.
  2. Rotate chain tensioner clockwise to loosen chain.
  3. Place chain on bar with cutting teeth facing forward on top.
  4. Position bar on studs, ensuring tensioning pin engages bar hole.
  5. Tighten bar nuts finger-tight.
  6. Tension chain: Rotate tensioner until chain is snug against bar (lift chain at center - drivers should not pull out of bar groove).
  7. Tighten bar nuts securely (25-30 Nm torque).

Tip: Always check chain tension when chain is cold. Chain stretches when warm.

Starting & Stopping

Follow proper starting procedure to avoid injury.

Cold Start:

  1. Engage chain brake by pushing hand guard forward.
  2. Set stop switch to start position.
  3. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  4. Set choke control to full choke.
  5. Place saw on ground, foot in rear handle.
  6. Pull starter cord until engine fires (1-3 pulls).
  7. Set choke to half-throttle position.
  8. Pull starter cord until engine starts.
  9. Disengage chain brake before cutting.

Warm Start: Skip choke step; start at half-throttle position.

Stopping: Release throttle, press stop switch to stop position.

Maintenance Schedule

IntervalMaintenance Task
DailyCheck chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication
DailyClean air filter (more often in dusty conditions)
WeeklyCheck all nuts and bolts for tightness
WeeklyClean cooling fins and cylinder cover
MonthlyClean spark arrestor screen (if equipped)
SeasonallyReplace spark plug (Husqvarna HDA-87 or equivalent)
SeasonallyClean fuel filter and replace if necessary
AnnuallyProfessional inspection and carburetor adjustment

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Storage & Transport

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Empty fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Remove chain, clean and oil it, store separately.
  4. Clean entire saw, especially cooling fins.
  5. Store in dry, cool place with bar and chain cover installed.
  6. For transport: Engage chain brake, install scabbard over bar.

WARNING! Never store chainsaw with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.

Safety & Regulatory
