Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all components. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach guide bar and chain: Place bar on mounting studs, fit chain around bar sprocket, adjust tension.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use Husqvarna 2-stroke engine oil mixed with unleaded gasoline (50:1 ratio).
  3. Fill chain oil tank: Use Husqvarna chain oil or equivalent.
  4. Check chain brake: Ensure front hand guard moves freely and returns to original position.

WARNING! Always wear protective equipment: helmet, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and chainsaw chaps.

First-Time Operation

Before first use, complete the following steps:

  1. Check all fasteners: Ensure all screws and nuts are properly tightened.
  2. Chain lubrication test: Run saw at idle and check for oil on chain.
  3. Test chain brake: Activate manually to ensure proper function.
  4. Practice starting: Follow starting procedure in a safe area.

CAUTION! Never operate chainsaw without proper training. Keep bystanders at least 15 feet away.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main controls: Front hand guard/chain brake, Throttle trigger, Throttle trigger lockout, Stop switch, Choke control, Primer bulb, Decompression valve, Chain tensioner.

Safety Features: Chain brake (manual/inertia activated), Right-hand guard, Throttle trigger lockout, Chain catcher, Vibration dampening system.

Operation: Start with chain brake engaged. Release chain brake before cutting. Use throttle trigger lockout as safety precaution. Stop switch stops engine immediately.

Chain & Bar Setup

Proper chain installation and tensioning is critical for safe operation.

  1. Loosen bar nuts with combination wrench.
  2. Place bar on mounting studs with tensioning pin in bar hole.
  3. Fit chain around bar sprocket with cutting teeth facing forward.
  4. Tighten chain using side-mounted tensioner until chain snaps back when pulled from bar.
  5. Tighten bar nuts securely.

Tip: Check chain tension frequently during first hour of use as new chain stretches.

Starting & Stopping Procedure

Always start on ground or solid surface.

  1. Activate chain brake by pushing front hand guard forward.
  2. Set stop switch to start position.
  3. Press decompression valve (if equipped).
  4. Set choke control to full choke (cold start) or half choke (warm engine).
  5. Press primer bulb 4-6 times until fuel is visible.
  6. Place saw on ground, hold rear handle with right foot in handle.
  7. Pull starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
  8. When engine fires, move choke to run position.
  9. Pull starter handle again until engine starts.
  10. Release chain brake before cutting.

Stopping: Release throttle, press stop switch to stop position.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Clean air filter. Check all fasteners.

Weekly: Clean cooling fins. Check spark plug. Clean fuel filter.

Monthly: Clean carburetor air intake. Check fuel lines. Clean chain brake mechanism.

Seasonal: Replace spark plug. Clean exhaust port and screen. Check anti-vibration elements.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Safety Features

Chain Brake: Manual activation via front hand guard; inertia activation during kickback. Right-Hand Guard: Protects right hand. Throttle Trigger Lockout: Prevents accidental throttle activation. Chain Catcher: Prevents broken chain from striking operator. LowVib System: Reduces vibration exposure.
