Safety Information

Read and understand all instructions before use. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sturdy footwear, and cut-resistant leg protection.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders, children, and pets at a safe distance. Ensure good footing and balance.
  3. Kickback Zone: Be aware of the upper quadrant of the guide bar tip. Do not let this part contact wood or other objects.
  4. Before Starting: Check chain tension, sharpness, and lubrication. Ensure the chain brake functions correctly.
  5. During Use: Hold the saw firmly with both hands. Do not overreach. Do not operate above shoulder height.

WARNING! A chainsaw is a dangerous tool. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Kickback can occur without warning.

Assembly & First Use

Assemble the chainsaw and prepare for first cut.

  1. Attach the Guide Bar and Chain: Place the bar onto the saw body. Loop the chain over the bar, ensuring cutting teeth face forward on the top. Adjust tension.
  2. Fill Chain Oil: Use only recommended chain oil. Fill the oil tank before each use.
  3. Install Battery: Insert a fully charged Husqvarna 36V battery until it clicks into place.
  4. Test Functions: Without starting, test the chain brake by pushing the front hand guard forward. It should engage with a click.
  5. First Start: Hold the saw firmly on the ground, press the safety trigger, then squeeze the main trigger.

CAUTION! Ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated before each use to prevent damage and unsafe operation.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: On/Off Switch, Safety Trigger, Main Trigger, Chain Brake Lever (Front Hand Guard).

Components: Front Handle, Rear Handle, Guide Bar, Saw Chain, Chain Tensioner Knob, Oil Filler Cap, Battery Release Button, Battery Indicator LEDs.

Operation: To start, first press the safety trigger (located inside the rear handle), then squeeze the main trigger. The chain brake is engaged by pushing the front hand guard forward (manually) or automatically via inertia during a kickback. Disengage by pulling the guard back towards the front handle.

Operation

Proper cutting techniques for safe and efficient operation.

  1. Starting a Cut: Let the chain reach full speed before contacting wood. Apply light feed pressure.
  2. Basic Cuts: Use the bottom of the guide bar for cutting. Do not cut with the upper tip.
  3. Pruning: Cut small branches with a single, smooth motion. Support longer branches to prevent binding.
  4. Limbing: Stand on the left side of the trunk. Cut limbs from the top side, working from the butt to the top of the fallen tree.
  5. Buckling: Cut from the top of the log. Use supports to keep the log off the ground and prevent pinching.
  6. Stopping: Release the main trigger. Engage the chain brake when not actively cutting.

Tip: Let the saw do the work. Forcing the cut can lead to kickback, chain damage, or motor strain.

Chain Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety.

  1. Chain Tensioning: Check tension frequently, especially when new. Loosen bar nuts, turn tensioning knob until chain is snug against the bar (can be pulled by hand but not loose), then retighten bar nuts.
  2. Sharpening: Use a round file and file guide matching the chain pitch. File all cutters to the same length at the recommended angle (typically 30°).
  3. Lubrication: Always run the saw with oil in the tank. Check oil flow by running the saw at a safe distance from a light-colored surface; a line of oil should appear.
  4. Cleaning: Remove sawdust and debris from the guide bar groove, oil holes, and saw body after use.
  5. Bar Maintenance: Flip the guide bar periodically for even wear. Clean the oil channel.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling the chain. Ensure the saw is off and the battery is removed for all maintenance.

Battery & Charging

Use only Husqvarna 36V batteries and chargers.

  1. Charging: Insert battery into charger. LED indicates charging status (e.g., red=charging, green=complete).
  2. Storage: Store battery at room temperature, partially charged (30-60%) for long periods.
  3. Runtime: Varies based on battery capacity (Ah), wood type, and cutting intensity.
  4. Battery Indicator: Press the button on the battery to see charge level via LEDs.

CAUTION! Do not expose battery to fire, water, or extreme temperatures. Do not use damaged batteries.

Storage

Store the chainsaw safely when not in use.

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Clean the saw thoroughly.
  3. Apply a light coat of oil to the guide bar and chain to prevent rust.
  4. Store in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
  5. Place the scabbard over the guide bar.

CAUTION! Never store the chainsaw with a battery installed or with fuel (if applicable).
