CAUTION! Ensure the chain brake is engaged (pulled forward) during assembly. Always wear gloves.

Starting & Stopping

WARNING! Always start the saw on the ground, firmly holding the rear handle with your foot in the front handle.

Operating Instructions

Proper cutting techniques for safety and efficiency.

Basic Cuts: Use full throttle at the point of cut. Let the chain do the work; do not force it. Be aware of kickback zone (upper quadrant of bar tip).

Felling a Tree: Plan escape path. Make notch cut. Make felling cut. Use wedges if needed.

Limbing & Bucking: Stand on left side of trunk. Cut from top down. Support logs properly when bucking.

Daily and periodic maintenance tasks.

Chain Sharpening & Tensioning

Proper chain maintenance is critical for performance and safety.

  1. Tensioning: Loosen bar nuts. Use tensioning screw to raise bar until chain is snug. Tighten bar nuts. Re-check tension when chain is warm.
  2. Sharpening: Use correct round file size. Maintain correct filing angle (typically 30°). File all cutters to equal length. File depth gauges (rakers) with a flat file and gauge.

Tip: A sharp chain cuts faster, reduces operator fatigue, and is safer than a dull one.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use only high-quality fuels and lubricants.

WARNING! Never use straight petrol or automotive motor oil. Never refuel a hot saw. Clean area around fuel cap first.

Storage

Preparing your chainsaw for long-term storage.

  1. Drain all fuel from the tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor.
  2. Remove, clean, and oil the chain. Store separately.
  3. Clean the entire saw thoroughly.
  4. Store in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Old fuel can gum up the carburetor. Always use the drain procedure.
