Safety Information

Always wear appropriate safety gear. Inspect motorcycle before each ride.

  1. Protective Gear: Always wear a DOT-approved helmet, eye protection, gloves, boots, and protective clothing.
  2. Pre-Ride Inspection: Check tires, brakes, lights, fluids, and controls before every ride.
  3. Riding Environment: Be aware of terrain, weather, and traffic conditions. Ride within your skill level.
  4. Passengers/Cargo: Do not exceed maximum load capacity. Ensure passenger understands safety procedures.

WARNING! Motorcycling is inherently dangerous. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Never operate under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Initial Setup & Pre-Ride Check

Complete initial setup and perform a pre-ride check before your first ride.

  1. Uncrating & Assembly: Follow dealer instructions for uncrating and final assembly (handlebars, wheels, etc.).
  2. Fluids: Check engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid levels. Fill as specified in the manual.
  3. Battery: Connect battery terminals (if disconnected), ensure it is fully charged.
  4. Tire Pressure: Inflate tires to recommended pressure (see specifications or sidewall).
  5. Controls: Check operation of throttle, clutch, brakes, and kill switch.
  6. Fasteners: Ensure all critical fasteners (axle nuts, handlebar clamps) are tightened to specification.

CAUTION! Do not attempt to ride the motorcycle until the initial setup and pre-ride check are complete.

Technical Specifications

Controls and Instrument Panel

Familiarize yourself with all controls before riding.

Left Handlebar: Clutch lever, horn button, high/low beam switch, turn signal switch, map select button (if equipped).

Right Handlebar: Front brake lever, throttle grip, engine stop switch, electric start button.

Instrument Panel: Digital display showing speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, clock, gear indicator, fuel level, engine temperature, and warning lights (neutral, high beam, turn signal, check engine).

Other Controls: Kickstarter (if equipped), sidestand, shift lever, rear brake pedal.

Riding Instructions

Basic operation procedures for starting, riding, and stopping.

  1. Starting the Engine: Ensure transmission is in neutral. Pull the clutch lever. Press the start button. Do not rev the engine excessively when cold.
  2. Shifting Gears: Close the throttle and pull in the clutch lever. Shift into the desired gear using the shift lever. Smoothly release the clutch while opening the throttle.
  3. Braking: Use both front and rear brakes together for maximum stopping power. Apply brakes progressively.
  4. Stopping & Parking: Shift into neutral at a stop. Use the kill switch or key to turn off the engine. Engage the sidestand on firm, level ground.

Tip: Practice basic maneuvers in a safe, controlled area before riding in traffic or on difficult terrain.

Routine Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for safety, performance, and warranty compliance. Refer to the official service manual for detailed procedures and intervals.

  1. After Break-in (1-3 hours): Change engine oil and filter. Check/tighten all fasteners.
  2. Daily/Pre-Ride: Check tire pressure and condition. Check brake fluid level and pad wear. Check chain tension and lubrication. Check for loose parts or fluid leaks.
  3. Every 15 Hours: Change engine oil. Clean air filter. Check valve clearance (4-stroke).
  4. Every 30 Hours: Change engine oil and filter. Check spoke tension. Lubricate cables and pivots.
  5. Every 60 Hours: Change coolant. Check wheel bearings and suspension linkage.
  6. Every 100 Hours: Major service including top-end inspection (piston, rings).

WARNING! Maintenance should be performed by a qualified technician if you are not experienced. Use only genuine Husqvarna parts and recommended lubricants/fluids.

Storage & Winterization

Proper preparation is required for long-term storage.

  1. Fuel System: Add fuel stabilizer to a full tank and run the engine for 5 minutes. Alternatively, drain the fuel system completely.
  2. Battery: Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place on a battery tender.
  3. Engine: Change the oil and filter. Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon of engine oil into the cylinder. Slowly turn the engine over to coat the cylinder walls, then reinstall the plug.
  4. Tires: Inflate tires to maximum recommended pressure and store the bike on a stand to avoid flat spots.
  5. Exterior: Clean the motorcycle thoroughly. Apply a protectant to plastic and rubber parts. Cover with a breathable motorcycle cover.

CAUTION! Storing a motorcycle with ethanol-blended fuel without treatment can damage the fuel system.
