  2. Never allow children or untrained persons to operate the mower.
  3. Do not mow on slopes exceeding the recommended maximum (consult manual).
  4. Always engage parking brake before dismounting.
  5. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts, especially the cutting deck.

WARNING! Risk of serious injury or death from blade contact, rollover, or fire. Operate with extreme caution. Always shut off engine and remove key before performing any maintenance.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly typically requires attaching the steering levers, seat, and ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure) if included.

  1. Position mower on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Attach steering control levers as per included diagram.
  3. Install operator seat and adjust to comfortable position.
  4. Check tire pressure and inflate to recommended PSI.
  5. Fill engine with recommended oil and fuel.
  6. Perform a pre-operation check of all controls and safety switches.

CAUTION! Use proper tools and follow torque specifications. Ensure all bolts and connections are secure before first use.

Controls & Operation

Familiarize yourself with all controls before starting the engine.

Control Panel: Ignition key, PTO switch, Choke, Throttle, Hour meter, Headlight switch.

Steering Levers: Move both levers forward to go straight. To turn, move one lever slower than the other or move one forward and one back for a zero-turn pivot.

Starting Procedure: 1. Sit in seat. 2. Engage parking brake. 3. Set throttle to halfway. 4. Turn key to START. 5. Disengage parking brake to move.

Mowing: Engage PTO switch to lower and spin blades. Mow at a steady pace, overlapping passes slightly for even cut.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance is crucial for performance and safety. Refer to engine manual for specific engine maintenance.

Interval (Hours)Task
Before each useCheck tire pressure, fluid levels, and for loose parts.
8Check mower deck belts for wear and tension.
50Change engine oil and filter (or annually).
100Replace air filter, spark plug. Grease fittings.
200Check and adjust drive belt tension. Inspect blades.

Engine Care

Use only recommended oil and fuel. Check oil level before every use.

  1. Oil Change: Run engine to warm oil, then drain via drain plug. Refill with correct grade and amount.
  2. Air Filter: Clean foam pre-cleaner regularly. Replace paper element when dirty.
  3. Fuel System: Use fresh fuel. Add fuel stabilizer for storage. Drain or run dry for long-term storage.
  4. Spark Plug: Clean and re-gap or replace annually.
  5. Cooling System: Keep cooling fins and air intake screen clean of debris.

Tip: Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing any engine maintenance.

Cutting Deck Maintenance

A clean, balanced deck ensures a quality cut and reduces strain on the engine.

  1. Blade Sharpening/Replacement: Remove deck or safely tip mower. Sharpen blades evenly or replace if bent or cracked. Balance blades.
  2. Deck Cleaning: After each use, scrape off grass clippings and mud from underside to prevent rust and disease spread.
  3. Belt Inspection: Check deck drive belts for cracks, fraying, or glazing. Adjust tension if loose.
  4. Spindle Lubrication: Grease spindle zerks regularly as per maintenance schedule.
  5. Deck Leveling: Check and adjust deck level periodically for even cut height.

WARNING! Blades are extremely sharp. Wear heavy gloves and handle with care.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage extends mower life.

  1. Thoroughly clean the entire mower, especially the cutting deck.
  2. Change engine oil and filter.
  3. Add fuel stabilizer to a full tank and run engine for 5 minutes, OR drain fuel tank and carburetor completely.
  4. Remove battery, clean terminals, and store in a cool, dry place on a trickle charger.
  5. Store in a clean, dry place, preferably covered.

CAUTION! Do not store near open flame, sparks, or in direct sunlight. Gasoline fumes are explosive.
