Pre-Ride Inspection

Always perform a thorough inspection before each ride to ensure safety and reliability.

  1. Check fuel level and ensure proper fuel/oil mixture (recommended 60:1 with Husqvarna XP 2T oil).
  2. Inspect tires for proper pressure (front: 1.0-1.2 bar, rear: 1.0-1.4 bar) and damage.
  3. Verify brake fluid levels and check brake pads for wear.
  4. Check chain tension (55-60 mm free play) and lubrication.
  5. Ensure all bolts and fasteners are tight (especially axle, handlebar, and engine mounts).
  6. Test lights, horn, and electric start function.

WARNING! Never operate the motorcycle if any component is damaged, loose, or malfunctioning. Riding with faults can lead to loss of control and serious injury.

Controls and Instruments

Familiarize yourself with all controls before riding.

Left Handlebar: Clutch lever, Horn button, High/Low beam switch, Turn signal switch, Light switch.

Right Handlebar: Front brake lever, Engine stop switch, Electric start button, Throttle grip.

Dashboard: Digital display showing speedometer, odometer, trip meter, hour meter, gear indicator, fuel warning light, and engine temperature warning.

Foot Controls: Gear shift lever (left), Rear brake pedal (right), Kickstarter lever (left side).

Adjustments: Handlebar position, lever reach, and shift/brake pedal height can be adjusted to rider preference.

Specifications

Operation & Riding

Starting the engine: Ensure transmission is in neutral. Pull the choke (cold engine), press the electric start button. Do not use throttle while starting. For kickstart, fold out lever and kick firmly through.

Riding Tips: Always wear appropriate protective gear. Allow engine to warm up before applying load. Use proper riding techniques for different terrains. The TE 150 is designed for experienced riders; its power delivery is aggressive.

Breaking-In: For the first 3 hours of operation, avoid sustained high RPMs and full throttle. Vary engine speed and allow cooling periods. Check all fasteners after the first hour of riding.

Basic Maintenance

Regular maintenance is critical for performance and safety. Refer to the official service manual for detailed procedures and intervals.

  1. Air Filter: Clean after every ride in dusty conditions. Use air filter oil.
  2. Engine Oil (Gearbox): Change every 15 operating hours. Use recommended SAE 10W-60.
  3. Spark Plug: Check gap (0.5-0.6 mm) and condition every 30 hours. Replace as needed.
  4. Coolant: Check level weekly. Change coolant every year or 100 operating hours.
  5. Chain: Clean, lubricate, and adjust tension regularly.
  6. Brake Pads/Fluid: Inspect pads for wear. Change brake fluid every 2 years.

CAUTION! Always let the engine cool before performing maintenance. Use genuine Husqvarna parts and recommended lubricants.

Fuel & Lubrication

Fuel: Use unleaded premium gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 95 RON. Never use fuel containing more than 10% ethanol (E10).

2-Stroke Oil: Use high-quality synthetic 2-stroke oil designed for high-performance engines. Husqvarna XP 2T is recommended. Mixing ratio: 60:1 (1.7% oil). Use a measuring bottle for accuracy.

Gearbox Oil: Capacity 0.7 liters. Use SAE 10W-60, API SL, JASO MA2 approved oil.

Coolant: Use a high-quality ethylene glycol based antifreeze mixed 50:50 with distilled water.

Suspension Setup

Basic adjustment for standard rider weight (75-85 kg / 165-187 lbs). Fine-tune for terrain and preference.

Front Fork (WP XPLOR): Compression adjustment (blue clicker on top of left fork leg). Rebound adjustment (red clicker on top of right fork leg). Preload adjustable via spacers (professional service).

Rear Shock (WP XACT): High/Low speed compression (red knobs on reservoir). Rebound adjustment (blue knob at bottom). Spring preload adjustable via collar.

Standard Settings (from fully closed): Fork Compression 15 clicks out, Rebound 20 clicks out. Shock Rebound 20 clicks out, High-Speed Compression 2 turns out, Low-Speed Compression 15 clicks out.

Storage & Winterization

If storing the motorcycle for more than 30 days:

  1. Drain the fuel tank and carburetor float bowl, or add fuel stabilizer and run engine for 5 minutes.
  2. Change engine oil (gearbox).
  3. Remove spark plug, pour a teaspoon of engine oil into cylinder, and crank engine slowly with kickstarter. Reinstall plug.
  4. Clean entire motorcycle, lubricate chain, and apply anti-corrosion spray to metal parts.
  5. Inflate tires to maximum pressure and store on stands to prevent flat spots.
  6. Disconnect battery or connect a battery maintainer.
  7. Store in a dry, cool place, covered with a breathable cloth.

Safety & Warnings

This is a high-performance vehicle. Failure to operate it correctly can result in serious injury or death.

DANGER! Gasoline is highly flammable. No smoking. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with engine off and cool.
