  2. Clear mowing area of debris, rocks, and other objects before starting.

  4. Do not mow on slopes greater than 15 degrees; mow up and down slopes, not across.
  5. Disengage blades, set parking brake, and turn off engine before leaving operator position.

WARNING! Rotating blades can cause severe injury. Keep hands and feet away from mower deck during operation. Always look behind when backing up.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Install steering control levers: Attach to mounting brackets using provided hardware.
  2. Attach seat: Position seat on mounting plate and secure with bolts.
  3. Connect battery: Attach red (+) cable first, then black (-) cable.
  4. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 14 PSI (front) and 10 PSI (rear).
  5. Add engine oil and fuel: Use SAE 30 oil (check dipstick) and unleaded gasoline.

Blade Care & Sharpening

  6. Reinstall blades with cutting edge toward ground; torque to 70-90 ft-lbs.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling blades. Replace blades if damaged.

Storage

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Clean entire mower thoroughly, especially underside of deck.
  2. Change engine oil and filter if due.
  3. Add fuel stabilizer to gas tank and run engine for 5 minutes to distribute.
