Machine Overview & Components

Identify the main parts of your Husqvarna machine before operation.

  1. Engine: Provides power. Includes starter, air filter, spark plug, and muffler.
  2. Handle/Control Panel: Houses controls like throttle, choke, stop switch, and safety levers.
  3. Cutting Deck/Attachment: Housing for blade(s) or cutting string. Includes discharge chute.
  4. Wheels & Adjusters: For mobility and cutting height adjustment.
  5. Fuel Tank & Oil Fill: Locations for adding fuel and engine oil.
  6. Battery (if equipped): Powers electric start function.

WARNING! Never operate the machine with damaged, missing, or improperly assembled components.

Assembly & Preparation

Most machines require minimal assembly. Follow these steps carefully.

  1. Unpack all parts and check against the parts list.
  2. Attach the handle: Align brackets, insert bolts, and tighten securely.
  3. Install the cutting blade or trimmer head: Use the correct tool and follow torque specifications. Ensure cutting direction is correct.
  4. Adjust the cutting height (lawn mowers): Set all wheels to the desired height.
  5. Add engine oil: Check manual for type and capacity. Fill to correct level on dipstick.
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh, clean unleaded gasoline with the recommended octane rating. For 2-stroke engines, mix with the specified 2-stroke oil at the correct ratio.
  7. Check tire pressure (if applicable): Inflate to recommended PSI.

CAUTION! Assembly on a clean, flat surface. Use the provided tools or proper wrenches. Do not force parts.

Safety Features: Operator Presence Control (must be held for blade to spin), Blade brake clutch, Protective guards, Safety labels.

Indicators: Oil level window/dipstick, Fuel gauge (if equipped).

Starting & Stopping the Engine

Always start in an open area free of obstacles.

  1. Cold Start (4-stroke): Set choke to FULL. Press primer bulb 3-5 times. Set throttle to FAST. Pull starter cord briskly. Once engine fires, move choke to HALF, then to RUN as engine warms.
